Hong Kong International
Hong Kong International Airport is the main airport of the country and is located in a beautiful island named Chek Lap Kok. The land in this island was reclaimed only for the purpose of building this airport. The airport was opened back in 1998 by replacing the Kai Tak Airport in the location. The airport took six years to be rebuilt again with several new amenities and terminals added onto it. There was an expenditure of $20 billion for the overall reconstruction of the airport. After the construction or renovation there are now several amenities for the passengers to avail comfort and luxury within the premises while they wait for the flights. It is considerably one of the busiest passenger airports in Hong Kong. There are over 60 million passengers who travel through the doors of this airport in a year. Not just in Hong Kong but this airport is known to be as the busiest airport in all of Asia-Pacific region. The airport consists of two terminals and two asphalt runways. Moreover, the best part is that for most of the world’s population, this airport is just 5 hours flight distance away. This airport also allows private jets and chartered flights to land and take off here.
