From the 1950’s to present day, Fokker has been a leading manufacturer of aircraft. The company primarily designs and operates turboprop airliners for commercial use in Europe but also sells its products worldwide; most notably is their success with the F27 Friendship which was first designed as a DC-3 replacement back during 1952. A number of different configurations were considered before settling on 28 passenger seats inside pressurized cabin that featured twin Rolls Royce Dart engines instead of propellers atop wings positioned high out over each wingtip – this design change would significantly reduce noise levels near airports like O’Hare International Airport where planes are often heard overhead all hours throughout the night breaking up otherwise peaceful slumber as they land or take off
