The Beech Model 90 King Air was the first model in the largest and most successful family of corporate turboprop twins yet built.
The story behind this aircraft began as a turboprop development of the Queen Air designed to meet an Army requirement for transport, specifically staff/utility transport. After proving itself well on test flights, it became clear that there would be demand from civilians too – so work continued with civil requirements in mind rather than military specifications alone. The result is what we now know as one of America’s favorite small airliners: comfortable and lavishly equipped while still economical enough for those who need more space but don’t have pockets deep enough to afford three times over sticker price like some other planes out there!
