Zhengzhou Airport is also known as Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. This international airport is serving Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, China. It is located in Xinzheng, 37 kilometres (23 mi) southeast of downtown Zhengzhou. Zhengzhou Airport replacing its predecessor, the now-demolished Dongjiao Airport and was opened on 28 August 1997. It is a public airport that correctly serves as the main gateway for the province and the central plain area. Zhengzhou Airport is operated by Henan Airport Group and is a hub for Cargolux, as well as a focus city for China Southern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, West Air, Lucky Air, and Donghai Airlines. It is the twelfth busiest airport by passenger traffic in the People’s Republic of China with 27,334,730 passengers, and the 7th busiest airport in terms of cargo traffic all over the globe. The best part of this airport is that it includes two terminal buildings that are beautiful and include all the best facilities. There is a department hall and the old air traffic control tower seen from terminal two in the first terminal. Zhengzhou Airport is available for international as well and domestic use.
