Minangkabau International Airport is the principal airport that is serving the province of West Sumatra on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. This beautiful international airport is located at Ketaping, Padang Pariaman Regency, about 23 km north-west of Padang city center. This international airport replaced the old Tabing Airport in Padang, and in July 2015, it becomes operational. The Minangkabau International Airport is named after the Minangkabau ethnic group who inhabit the region. This airport is owned by the Government of Indonesia and is operated by PT Angkasa Pura II. The best thing about this Minangkabau International Airport is that it has a single passenger terminal, and the process of expanding the terminal has been started. Minangkabau International Airport terminal currently has ten food outlets that offer a range of cuisines along with two shops. There are many effective and useful services offered by this airport, like the airport lounges providing premium facilities, and a mosque can be found within the same area of the terminal. It has only one runway and is capable of receiving aircraft up to the size of a Boeing seven hundred and forty-seven and Airbus A340.
