Istanbul Ataturk Airport is considered as the largest airport of Turkey. In the year 2016 the Istanbul Ataturk airport witnesses the passenger count of 34,000,000 passengers in the year. It is known as the main international airport of Turkey and is the busiest airport of the country throughout the year. The airport has facilities to handle both passenger flights as well as cargo flights. The airport was opened first in 1924 and went through renovation in 1980. The airport consists of three runways that are capable of withstanding flights of all types. Along with that there are two passenger terminals that are filled with luxurious amenities for the passengers to experience comfort and luxury while they wait for their flights to arrive. One of the passenger terminals is solely meant for the international flights and passengers. While the other terminal is to attend the domestic travellers and flights. It helps maintain the harmony in the airport without much rush. The airport is functional for 24 hours in a day throughout the year and also welcomes private jets and chartered flights.
