The Gimhae International Airport was opened in 1976, and then it became the central hub for Air Busan, Asiana Airlines, and Korean Air. This international airport is owned by the Ministry of land, infrastructure, and transport. And it is operated by Korea Airports Corporation and the Republic of Korea air force. It also includes a runway of 18L/36R used for military purposes only for the Gimhae Airbase. Gimhae International Airport operates a significant airline that includes frequent flights from the airport to both domestic and international destinations. Now there is a plan for a major infrastructure upgrade to meet the airport’s traffic. The new project in Gimhae International Airport includes the addition of a state of the art passenger terminal and a brand new runaway. This new project is expected to be completed by 2026, but now the airport could accept aircraft up to the size of Boeing 777 or equivalent. Through expansion plans will see the airport will be able to handle much larger aircraft. You may also find an array of restaurants and shops in the main terminal.
