The Gulfstream V is the last of a long lineage of business jets, starting with the original Gulfstream I. The fuselage’s cross-section remains unchanged from one generation to another while many revisions and redesigns have been made in order to fill an ever widening gap for larger and more intercontinental range executive aircraft that are capable of carrying heavier loads than previous models can handle. Newer Rolls Royce engines were installed instead those on its predecessors which were replaced by BMW/RR BR 700-710 C4 11 turbofan engines – these new powerhouses provide much needed thrust without sacrificing speed or duration for transoceanic flights!
